Synthesis and Ti-N Sputtering of Zr-Nb Alloys for Dental Implant Material

Abstract Synthesis and sputtering of the Zr-2.5Nb alloys were performed for dental implant material candidate. The alloy was synthesized by casting process in an arc melting furnace with argon atmosphere composition Zr-2.5 Nb (wt %). Surface treatment carried out Ti-N current 20 Ampere 45 minutes. Characterization microstructure SEM-EDX test followed phase identification using XRD analysis. hardness measured Vickers Hardness Number method to evaluate relation mechanical property before after process. A homogeneous structure relatively fine grain found synthesis alloy. layer thickness formed mean 0.5 micrometers. Increasing observed surface that predicted improving compatibility material.
